The most terrifyingly tubby dragon in all of D&D lore is back and bigger than ever, with Sirius Dice recently unveiling a new “chonky” Themberchaud d20.
Approximately 55mm in size (making it over twice the size of an average twenty-sided die), the new mega-sized math rock is made of clear resin and features the well-fed wyrm in the center. This oversized D&D D20 will be coming out later in July, but you pre-order it now from your local game store, Sirius Dice and Amazon.
So is this giant die worthy of everyone’s favorite large-and-in-charge dragon? Below, we roll up all the details.

What is the new Themberchaud oversized D20?
The new Themberchaud 55mm Gargantuan D20 is a sharp-edged dice that includes a pre-painted miniature of the iconic red dragon in the center (with him making hilarious “heart hands” with his claws). It also includes the official Dungeons & Dragons license and comes in a limited edition box.
Notably, Sirius has released several dice in this “chonky” format, including a Black Lotus spindown die for use with Magic: The Gathering, but this is the first product that can actually be used during D&D gameplay (as a spindown die features a different order of numbers on it than a typical, randomized D20).

How much is the Themberchaud oversized D20?
The die retails for $54.99 USD (not including shipping and handling). That may seem like a fairly hefty price for a single D20, but bear in mind this isn’t a typical die and is really more of a collector’s item than anything else.
When will the new Themberchaud D20 be available?
The die will be released on July 14th, 2026, at which point you should be able to purchase it online and from most local game stores (although pre-orders are available now).

Who is Themberchaud?
In official D&D lore, Themberchaud is a legendary adult red dragon who resides in the Underdark. Known by titles like “The Wyrmsmith of Gracklstugh,” he entered into a tenuous alliance with a local Duergar clan, using his powerful fire breath to fuel their massive forges. In exchange, they constantly overfed him treasure and food, resulting in his famously overweight, chonky physique.
In the real world, Themberchaud first appeared as an encounter in the 2015 Out of the Abyss campaign book for D&D 5E, later stealing the show in the 2023 film Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves. He’s since received his own Magic: The Gathering card, inspired a D&D Nerf gun, had his own Funko Pop, been turned into a Christmas ornament and been immortalized as a cuddly plushy.

Who is Sirius Dice?
Sirius Dice is a Brooklyn-based RPG accessory creator founded in 2019 by tech entrepreneur Lax Chandra and business consultant Tina Trenkler. In 2023, the company signed a licensing deal with Wizards of the Coast and has since released a number of products using the official Dungeons & Dragons brand, including cups, pins and dice sets.
Most notably in June of 2024, Sirius collaborated with Wizards of the Coast to release their D&D Pride Month set, with proceeds donated to the Trevor Project, an organization that helps at-risk LGBTQ+ youth.

Final Thoughts
Themberchaud may be one of the most unique dragons in all of D&D history, so it’s great to see this tubby titan continue to steal the spotlight at the tabletop.
You can pre-order the Themberchaud 55mm Gargantuan D20 now from your local game store, Sirius Dice and Amazon.
